CHAIN (Co-ordination and Harmonisation of Advanced e-INfrastructures: http://www.chain-project.eu/), GISELA (Grid Initiatives for e-Science virtual communities in Europe and Latin America: http://www.gisela-grid.eu/) and EPIKH (Exchange Programme to advance e-Infrastructure Know-How: http://www.epikh.eu/) announce the Grid School for Application Porting to Science Gateway to be held in Mexico City, Mexico.
The Grid School aims at increasing the number of scientific applications running on the GISELA e-Infrastructure and integrated in the GISELA Science Gateway to ease their access and use by non-expert users.
Important deadlines: Application submission 1st of June 2012
The school is mostly intended, but not restricted, for CHAIN, GISELA and EPIKH members.
To fulfill the goal of this Grid School, the program, based both on lectures and hands-on practices, will cover in-depth the main topics of Science Gateways' development.
Good previous knowledge of the Java programming language is mandatory.
To maximize the didactic impact and effectiveness, the number of applications to be ported will be limited to 8-10.
